Nando - Male Lead

 

The first thing you notice about Nando is that he is a badass and is physically intimidating, Tattoos and scar tissue on his knucklestells you that he's dangerous- even before he gets out his ivory-handled stiletto knife. He enjoys the finer things in life- custom-made suits and snakeskin boots- that set him apart from his "soldiers," who are most often seen in jeans and tee shirts. He is as gregarious as he is dapper who is quick to smile and friendly to everybody he meets. But it’s just a veneer. He is a psychopath, and no stranger to violence when it suits him. He enjoys football, but likes money better- which he demonstrates when he bets on the opposing team to win in the first game. As his arc develops, his narcissism comes to the fore so that we do not pity him when he is placed in the awkward position of having to throw the championship game. It’s not that he wants to throw it, but at that point, it’s a question of survival. As much as he would like to, he doesn't run the show in Rio. He is a cheerful gangster prone to excessiveviolence, and this combination makes him a very scary dude indeed.
