Eduardo - Male Lead

 

Eduardo is a tough kid from a tough neighborhood who happens to be extremely good at football. His life is a samba on the knife edge of gang life - a path his brother is determined that he should not take. Neville is something of a star in his favela; very likable, but also a little cocky and immature at the beginning of the film. When Neville arrives, Eduardo is worried about his thunder being stolen. But he is a good guy, who cares deeply about his teammates (and football - his way out). Once he sees that Neville is beginning to try at practice, and he becomes aware of the magic that he and Neville can create on the pitch, he becomes Neville’s biggest fan. By the end of the film their arcs intertwine. They are, and become not just teammates, but the best of friends.
